… What You Are Doing Is Above and Beyond Call of Duties
Members of the Prayer & Support For The Armed Forces and other Security Agencies Group have been commended for coming up with the initiative of media advocacy team calling for prayers for Nigerian armed forces and other security agencies.

Speaking during a courtesy visit by the team to the Western Naval Command, the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Jason Gbassa reiterated the essence of prayer and gave kudos to the media advocacy group’s efforts.
“What you are doing now can be likened to going above and beyond the call of duties. You are planting a seed that will one day germinate into a tree that will bear fruits.
“This will later be of great benefits to all and for the development of our nation with many advantages.” Rear Admiral Gbassa noted.
According to him, the group’s idea is great and noble, though the starting point maybe small but it will eventually be for the benefits of the nation because it cuts across all faiths.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the group’s Convener, Mrs Mary Fatile, stated that the Nigerian military remains number òne in Africa but everyone keeps wondering why they are still finding it difficult to tackle the security challenges in the country.
“But we believe firmly that prayers can move mountain, hence, the need for us to mobilize all Nigerians to support our officers with prayers.
So that for everyone sabotaging their efforts, God should drain their resources and destroy them.”
Also speaking, the team lead, Dr. Qasim Akinreti stated that as a media advocacy support group of some senior Journalists, Crime and Defence Correspondents established in March, 2021, the group had noted and appreciated the challenges and succeses recorded by the military in the ongoing fight against insurgents in the Northeast Nigeria, kidnappings and banditry across the country.
“Aside from giving the Armed Forces support, we believe we need to engage in mobilising Nigerians for special prayers and unique support for our gallant soldiers.
As well as create an enabling environment for peace, prayer and support for our armed forces personnel and other security agencies and their families.” He explained.
Other activities of the group is to inform, train, sensitise Nigerians and project Nigeria armed forces personnel and other security agencies and their families to be the best and achieve success through God and fellow Nigerians.
