Our Expectations From New NAHCON Boss – Nigerians
Mallam Abdullahi Danjuma in Agege-Mangoro Ram market and others called for cheaper Hajj fares.
“Hassan’s appointment by Mr President is a demonstration of our believe in Mr President’s detribalised nature. We have no doubt that Hassan’s appointment is a square peg in a square hole.””We are not unaware of the landmark successes recorded by immediate past chairman, Barrister Abdullah Mukhtar. We urge Hassan to improve on them and fine-tune the Hajj process with the support of other members of the commission.” MMPN advised.
As the watchdog of the society, MMPN implored the new NAHCON Chairman to see how Hajj could be brought to the level of commoners, whose financial predicament is a big stumbling block to their desire of performing the last pillar of Islam by seeing to reduction in Hajj fares.
“We also want him to look into the man-hours lost in boarding of flights to and from Saudi Arabia. Reduction of that time is achievable as been practised by the private hajj operators and other nationals.
MMPN assured the new chairman of partnering with the commission in other areas such as media awareness and advocacy and hajj logistics geared towards improving hajj services in Nigeria.
According to a release signed by Hajia Fatima Sanda Usara, NAHCON’s Head of Public Affairs, Barrister Mukhtar also gave gratitude to the AllAllah swt for a successful completion of his term in office, while appreciating President Muhammadu Buhari for giving him an opportunity to serve as chairman of the Commission. He thanked his board members and NAHCON staff for the support they gave him without which he would not have succeeded.
Addressing NAHCON staff and other board members, Alhaji Hassan praised the Creator of Mankind for the great honour of being saddled with NAHCON’s mantle of leadership. While expressing gratitude to President Buhari for considering him capable of being appointed NAHCON Chairman, he solemnly pledged to elevate the Commission to the highest level.♥
Also, he promised to build upon the foundation of the Commission’s founding fathers and make NAHCON an industry, which Federal Government will be proud of. The new Chairman sincerely commended his predecessor for changing the face of Hajj in Nigeria. He promised to tread the path of making Hajj fare affordable.
“I want all staff to contribute positive energy towards moving the Commission forward and I promise to uphold your welfare and capacity building in order to shape us up for new trends in global Hajj affairs.”
The immediate past chairman of NAHCON said his tenure had achieved a 17-agenda aimed at transforming Hajj administration in the country.
“This Hajj House is 100 per cent property of NAHCON and by extension the entire Muslims. We have a vision of how the Hajj institute will be a revenue generator for the commission.”
According to him, the project is enough for the Commission to independently manage and deliver the Hajj operation.
“We must harness new ideas to make and reduce Hajj Fare, so that we can empower and enable majority of Muslim faithful to hearken to the divine obligation and calls. ‘
“The new board has also resolved to continue the journey to give and make NAHCON a global brand and recognition like the famous Tabung Hajj in Malaysia.
Therefore, our journey will not be complete until we find a better way that will make our pilgrims not wait for long hours and days in Saudi Arabia to board the aircraft or depart for their destinations.”
“Let each of us embrace the solemn duty to be a driver of the the policy to move this commission forward. I’m confident that with common purpose, passion and dedication from all of us, we can achieve and answer the call of history to make NAHCON the doyen and pride of all Muslims in the country as well as become the proud child in whom the Federal Government will be well pleased.”
“We intend to pursue the upscale capacity building through training and retraining of staff by ensuring the takeoff of the long awaited Hajj Training Institute because it is in our interest and conscience and I believe it is the only source of hope to sustain the foundation and legacies of the founding fathers of this great edifice called NAHCON.”Also, he paid glowing tribute to his predecessors for their contributions to the growth of NAHCON and positive strides in the administration and management of Hajj.
“I stand before you to make a solemn pledge to continue the never ending journey to improve, elevate and uplift the Hajj administration in Nigeria to an enviable height.”
” It is now our Board’s task to carry on what the visionary pioneers Mallam Mohammed Musa Bello and Barrister Abdullahi Muhhtar Mohammed, (MON) started.
I want to place on record my sincere commendation to the outgoing Chairman/CEO, Bar Abdullahi Mukhtar Mohammed, MON, FCIA for his positive efforts and giant strides during his tenure. You will be remembered for changing the face of Hajj management in Nigeria”
“We need the support and cooperation of the entire staff. On this note I want to assure that the Board under my leadership will make the staff and their welfare the anchor of our policies.”
“I want to pledge our commitment to your welfare by giving you your rights and privilege without discrimination or bias.” Barrister Hassan concluded.
